AGC proud SILVER sponsor of the Belgian Pavilion at Dubai Expo

More than 700 sqm of AGC solar control glazing used to shape the stunning Belgian Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020.

From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, the United Arab Emirates welcome the Expo 2020 Dubai, featuring 191 international pavilions that are representative of the participating countries. To best represent Belgium, the Belgian international construction group BESIX joined forces with Belgian architects ASSAR Architects and Vincent Callebaut Architectures to design an aesthetic and functional pavilion that can welcome around 15.000 visitors a day.

The Belgian Pavilion is called "The Green Arch", as it combines intensive greenery and futuristic design in solid wood. The pavilion aims to be exemplary in terms of sustainable development. It is an ode to regenerative circular economy, to biobased and geosourced materials, to the integration of bioclimatic rules and renewable energies, as well as to the preservation of biodiversity and nature.

The modern building has been glazed with 650 sqm of AGC’s high-end solar control glazing Stopray Vision-40T and 70 sqm of Stopray Smart 30. These solar protection coatings deliver excellent solar protection while being transparent and maintaining a neutral colour, hence beautifying the overall design of the pavilion while preserving visitors from excessive heat inside.
